Dance for Hope,
Dance for Peace
I believe that every act of love and kindness, no matter how small, makes a difference. I believe we are all connected by our human frailties; our shared hopes and loves, make us so much more alike than we are different.
My dream is that the Moore Dance Company will bring to life both the beauty of dance, and our shared humanity.
Dancing like all Arts, shines a light on moments of joy, sorrow, tragedy, laughter, despair; our basic human truths. We all love, we all suffer, and as Maddie Dawson has written, “ We are all broken, but we still have to dance”.
So, by forming Moore Dance Company, I hope to shine my light on charities that are working hard for the vulnerable among us, with a special emphasis on women and children.
I hope my choreography reaches people in an accessible and heartfelt way. I hope also, that my creative moments of joy and sorrow, laughter and despair touches our audience in a way that opens their hearts and minds.
My company members are not professional dancers; they are students and adults who work full time jobs in the Burlington, VT area. But they are all dancers ready to be involved with work for the greater good, both with gratitude for our blessed lives here, and with love for those far less fortunate. At Moore dance we all need to dance, for the pure joy of it... but we want to dance for good.
